Massachusetts Maritime Academy

Massachusetts Maritime Academy is a state college offering undergraduate degrees in maritime-related fields, including marine transportation, marine engineering, environmental protection and safety, facilities engineering, international maritime business, emergency management, and energy systems engineering. The academy also offers graduate degrees and a wide range of professional study/continuing education programs. Cadets undergo a rigorous curriculum focused on academic performance, physical conditioning, and personal conduct intended to provide the structure and discipline to succeed. Graduates will earn a BS degree, merchant marine officer’s license, or naval officer’s commission. The academy boasts a strong job placement record, with many graduates going on to fruitful seagoing, engineering, and environmental professions. Located on Cape Cod, the Massachusetts Maritime Academy invites those who are passionate about adventure, the ocean, and pushing themselves to their limits. As part of their training, students are exposed to foreign ports aboard a 540-foot steamship, which they will learn to control under close supervision. Sports teams at the MMA include baseball, crew, cross country, football, lacrosse, rifle, sailing, soccer, softball, track & field and volleyball.
