Iowa Lakes Community College offers 100+ academic programs, including career options, such as accounting, administrative assistant, broadcast media specialist, business administration, criminal justice, environmental studies, and substance abuse counseling; two-year technical programs, such as associate degree nursing, automotive technology, construction technology, hotel and restaurant management, motorcycle and small engine technology, veterinary technician, wind energy and turbine technology, and more; and vocational programs such as accounting, child care, graphic specialist, massage therapy, and photography.
Students at Iowa Lakes gain a personalized education from highly qualified instructors. They can choose a flexible schedule, including full- and part-time day, evening, and weekend courses at five different campuses (Algona, Emmetsburg, Estherville, Spencer, and Spirit Lake) as well as a wide range of online and hybrid courses. Students can choose to live on one of three campuses any national trends.

Tuition at Iowa Lakes Community College is affordable. In addition, the school offers many financial aid and scholarship programs. Many graduates also go on to four-year institutions such as Briar Cliff University, Buena Vista University and the University of Iowa College of Nursing, that offer upper-level courses at Iowa Lakes campuses. The college has also partnered with the University of Iowa to help its graduates pursue a bachelor’s degree.
Dorm housing is available at Emmetsburg, Estherville, and Spencer campuses. Students can also choose to participate in more than 30 clubs, including many vocal and instrumental ensembles for solo and group performances. Students can also join one of the campus sports teams, such as volleyball, softball, soccer, and wrestling.
