CollegeWeekLive Announces YouTube Video Contest and Scholarships for College-Bound Students
Largest virtual college fair creates chance for college applicants to have fun, express themselves, and win money for college

On March 25th and 26th, thousands of students from around the world will log into CollegeWeekLive, a unique online-only event that will let them connect and interact with
200+ participating U.S. colleges and universities. This free, Web-based event gives students
and their parents a LIVE connection with admissions experts, college staff and undergrads--integrating Web-based video, texting, and other new technologies. Over 16,000 students have already signed up to participate.

The $2,500 CollegeWeekLive Video Contest
CollegeWeekLive is seeking imaginative submissions for 30-60 second videos, in which students cancreatively describe their personal college search experience. “The college search process can be stressful, fun, exhausting, or exciting. So grab a video camera and tell us about your experience,” said Mike Lewis, VP of Marketing. “Tell us about the stress of narrowing your school choices, about an interview that went well (or not so well), or-- just hit record and vent about the whole process in general!”
Submitted videos will be screened and posted to the CollegeWeekLive YouTube channel within 24 hours. The five videos that receive the most views will be selected as finalists, and the winner will be determined during CollegeWeekLive - March 25th and 26th.
Get Creative, Get Viral!
Since the five finalists will be determined by views, applicants are encouraged to be creative to make their videos as interesting as possible! Mike Lewis suggests: “Increase your views by sending your video to friends and family, link it to your blog or website, and send the video to your Facebook friends using our $2,500 CollegeWeekLive Video Contest application.”

Scholarships- - Two $2,500 Awards
In addition to the Video Contest, CollegeWeekLive is proud to announce two college scholarship opportunities for the March 2008 show. Worth $2,500 each, these scholarships and can be applied to any accredited college, university, or trade school. Both college scholarships are totally free, and have only two basic requirements:
College Scholarship Essay, U.S. Students:
In 100 words or less, explain one characteristic you have that will make you successful
in college.
College Scholarship Essay, International Students:
In 75 words or less, explain why you want to go to college in the United States.
The second requirement is to log into and participate in CollegeWeekLive on March 25th
and 26th, 2008. Applications are now open and the deadline for all entries is March 3rd.
