Summer Activities to Get You Into College
Take time this summer to get ahead in your college admissions search. Here are a few tips: #1: Plan For college. Start planning for college and thinking about your career interests.
At www.FederalStudentAid.ed.gov/myFSA you can register with MyFSA and research your career and college options. And don’t forget that money for college is available. You can apply for financial aid after January 1st of your senior year in high school.
#2: Notebooks Are A Necessity. Find a great laptop to power you through your college search, writing application essays, virtual tours, and online college fairs. CollegeWeekLive partner, HP, offers special discounts for students. Check it out.
#3: Take Tours. Consider touring colleges you are interested in applying to to help narrow your list.
#4: Test Prep. Plan ahead for the SAT and ACT tests. SAT dates are available here and ACT dates are available here. Consider summer test prep courses to maximize your score.
#5: Make Yourself Standout. Your college application should show that you are a well rounded, hard working student. Summer is an opportunity for internships, volunteering, and community service to make yourself stand out during the application process.
#6: Use CollegeWeekLive. CollegeWeekLive has new events and on demand content available this summer. Visit college booths to access important links and documents. View presentations with admissions experts for tips on every aspect of the college application process. And login to virtual open houses this summer for live chat and interactive presentations. Visit the events page for show dates.
